  3. Several past assignments now that you can still do late for partial credit
  4. Post your own optional posts to the blog!

Group Sorting

If you opted for in-person peer review with discussion:

You are in a group together.

If you opted for private feedback from me OR anonymous online feedback:

You will all be commenting on the drafts posted anonymously to the blog.

Leave comments on as many of the drafts as you have time for, but I would rather you spend time leaving thoughtful, detailed feedback on one draft rather than speed through multiple drafts. (Note: In-line comments feature is available!)

If you opted for anonymous in-person peer review:

Please choose whether you would prefer online anonymous feedback or to join the not-anonymous group. Not enough people chose this option for them to remain anonymous while also giving/receiving feedback in real life.

If you still have not chosen an option but do have a draft ready for today:

Choose an option now and either email me your draft so I can put it on the blog anonymously or join up with others who would like in-person discussion.

If you did not choose an option and have no draft ready for today:

Please leave feedback for your classmates online.

Peer Review Guidelines:

I will keep a timer running so we can try to distribute our feedback evenly/make sure everyone gets comments.

Here are some questions for you to think about as you write your responses to your peers.

  1. Summarize the journey the writer is conveying and the major steps along that journey/their significance for the writer. Writers: Do these summaries match what you were trying to express?
  2. Make a comment on some vivid imagery or specific details that you found moving/powerful/effective
  3. Make a comment on some imagery or details that you want to know more about, or you think could be made more specific/evocative
  4. What questions do you have as a reader? (This can be things you found vague/confusing or just things you want to know more about)
  5. Where is the “center of gravity” of this draft so far? (That is, what seems to be the most important part?)
  6. Look back at the rubric/assignment sheet. Do you think there are any specific areas of the rubric the writer could improve on?
  7. If the writer has provided specific questions they would like feedback on, please try to address those.

Nancy Pelosi and Donald Trump’s Bickering

On February 4, 2020, Donald Trump was scheduled to delivered his State of the Union speech in Washington D.C, where Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Pence, and many politicians were present. Mr.Trump entered the room and approached Pence and Pelosi before giving his speech to provide them with a copy of his speech, during this moment Pelosi extended her hand out to Mr.Trump for a handshake, but Trump turned around without giving mind. After President trump finished delivering his speech everybody rose up and clap, yet Nancy Pelosi decided to ripped his speech apart, when asked about it, she responded “it was a manifesto of lies”.

First Post: TV show “Chilling adventures of Sabrina”

As soon as the first part of CAOS has been launched on Netflix streaming Platform back in October, 2018 – it became phenomenally popular among teenagers and young adults. The show is consider to be based on different series of Sabrina comics then the famous 90s sitcom “Sabrina the teenage witch”. However, we can see our favorite characters in this Tv show as well. Such as Sabrina Spellman herself. her boyfriend Harvey Kinkle, her aunties and many others. There are a lot of unusual things in CAOS such as gothic style of characters, their homes, school, etc., dark humor, Satanic “vibes” f.e. when something bad happens witches in the show say “what the heaven?” or they have Church of the Night, where they worship Satan or how they mostly call him Dark Lord. Additionally, they mention important social issues such as homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism and other forms of hatred in very light manner. And of course the main thing bout the show is action, magic, great effects, adventures, etc.

Social media ads > billboards:

Social media ads are more effective for both the buyer and seller. Due to certain algorithms and just the modern world we live in today, things are all over the internet. Rather, all over social media. We judge ads we see outside just based on the given information. Through social media you’re provided with links and just overall easy access to more in-depth information on whatever you plan on purchasing, before you actually do so.

The contactless fare payment is sort of persuasive for everyday people who are always on the go and doesn’t have time to stop and buy a metro card they can just tap and go. I find this persuasive because most people usually doesn’t use Apple Pay, or Google Pay so having this new technology kind of persuades people to have access to tap and go to catch their train other than to get a Metro Card the old fashion way.

Queen and Slim

This movie is really amazing. The various cinematic techniques that were utilized in the movie makes it satisfying to watch. For example, the camera angles and music that was used. The cast pick was really thought through and the plot makes you sit at the edge of your seat. The movie emphasizes loyalty, leaving a legacy, and finding your ride or die.

An emotionally moving, powerful, and informative video

I watched this video a while back. At first, the title threw me off because I wondered why somebody would admit to thinking about committing a school shooting. It made me angry because at the time my best friend had recently been a victim in a school shooting and was lucky enough to make it out alive. However, once I passed the initial bias Aaron’s story touched me. It made me realize that we should be focusing on mental health and properly deal with the warning signs of a person who is planning to commit a mass shooting. I believe this video allows you to see things from a different perspective and really think about the ways we can easily prevent a tragedy. By the end of the video, you begin to be glad that Aaron admitted to his past demons because his speech helps us realize what these potential shooters are thinking about before they commit the crime.
