The ad is making the argument that “AptDeco is the easiest way to buy & sell furniture”. The intended audience is people who want to buy or sell pre-owned items. They are using the following strategies to convince the audience: free to list, free pick-up, no home visits, faster sold (in 6 days), and customer reviews. The data presented is not reliable. How did they conclude that it is the easiest way to sell or buy items? What statistic did they use to bring that conclusion? Where can I find the customers’ reviews? Who is Emma S.? I think the ad is not effective because they do not use facts, real furniture, and real numbers to persuade the audience.
On February 4, 2020, Donald Trump was scheduled to delivered his State of the Union speech in Washington D.C, where Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Pence, and many politicians were present. Mr.Trump entered the room and approached Pence and Pelosi before giving his speech to provide them with a copy of his speech, during this moment Pelosi extended her hand out to Mr.Trump for a handshake, but Trump turned around without giving mind. After President trump finished delivering his speech everybody rose up and clap, yet Nancy Pelosi decided to ripped his speech apart, when asked about it, she responded “it was a manifesto of lies”.

Her name is Cherry
We’ve just met
But already she knows me better than you
She understands me
After eighteen years
And you still don’t see me like you ought to do
Maybe we could talk ’bout things
If you was made of wood and strings
While I love her every sound
I dunno how to tune you down
You’re so thick and my patience’s thin
So I got me a new best friend
With a pickup that puts you to shame
And Cherry is her name
And when I’m lonely
Cherry’s there
And she plays along while I sing out my blues
I could be crying
And you don’t care
You won’t call me back, you’re stubborn as mule
Maybe we could talk ’bout things
If you was made of wood and strings
You might think I’ve gone too far
I’m talking ’bout my new guitar
The song “Cherry”, off of Amy Winehouse’s album Frank, is in my opinion a peculiar yet powerful piece of music. This particular piece was written at a time when Amy was struggling with depression and dealing with an on again/off again relationship with her boyfriend. If you read through the lyrics you can see that Amy is describing the qualities of her “friend” Cherry. She offers comparison between the way Cherry makes her feel, versus the way her significant other does. Winehouse artfully illustrates the support that she gets from Cherry, and her lovers lack of care and interest in her struggle with depression. At the conclusion of the song she finally reveals that Cherry is actually her guitar. I love this piece of music and I feel its powerful because it illustrates a suffering artists struggle with depression and how she uses music as a form of therapy.
The “The Ballot or the Bullet” speech by Malcolm X, delivered on April 3rd 1964, is perhaps the most powerful speech in African American History because it’s contents still applies to the livelihood of African Americans today. Malcolm X’s creativity and comparison of ballot to a bullet is brilliant because their uses are very similar. A bullet is used against particular individuals, who are within the shooter’s range. A ballot should be used in the same way where people don’t use their ballots to vote unless a candidate is within their ‘range’ or is acceptable.
As soon as the first part of CAOS has been launched on Netflix streaming Platform back in October, 2018 – it became phenomenally popular among teenagers and young adults. The show is consider to be based on different series of Sabrina comics then the famous 90s sitcom “Sabrina the teenage witch”. However, we can see our favorite characters in this Tv show as well. Such as Sabrina Spellman herself. her boyfriend Harvey Kinkle, her aunties and many others. There are a lot of unusual things in CAOS such as gothic style of characters, their homes, school, etc., dark humor, Satanic “vibes” f.e. when something bad happens witches in the show say “what the heaven?” or they have Church of the Night, where they worship Satan or how they mostly call him Dark Lord. Additionally, they mention important social issues such as homophobia, transphobia, sexism, racism and other forms of hatred in very light manner. And of course the main thing bout the show is action, magic, great effects, adventures, etc.
In social media there are a lot of fake news. I believe it’s not effect the ads being portrayed on the media. i rather use a more reliable source like the televison or fox news app.
The sushi in the cafeteria is really great. Everything from the presentation to the way it is prepared is extremely entertaining. As someone who does not eat sushi very often, i was pleasantly surprised. Theres not much of a variety but still very good.
Social media ads are more effective for both the buyer and seller. Due to certain algorithms and just the modern world we live in today, things are all over the internet. Rather, all over social media. We judge ads we see outside just based on the given information. Through social media you’re provided with links and just overall easy access to more in-depth information on whatever you plan on purchasing, before you actually do so.
The contactless fare payment is sort of persuasive for everyday people who are always on the go and doesn’t have time to stop and buy a metro card they can just tap and go. I find this persuasive because most people usually doesn’t use Apple Pay, or Google Pay so having this new technology kind of persuades people to have access to tap and go to catch their train other than to get a Metro Card the old fashion way.
